- 70 grams wholemeal pita bread
- 110 grams grilled chicken breast, sliced
- 3 cherry tomatoes, sliced
- 0.20 medium red onion, thinly sliced
- 5 grams rocket lettuce
- 16 grams Gouda cheese, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp mayonnaise
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
- Slice the grilled chicken breast into thin strips.
- Slice the cherry tomatoes into halves.
- Thinly slice the red onion.
- Slice the Gouda cheese into thin slices.
Warm the Pita Bread:
- Heat up The Pita bread in a toaster or on a grill sandwich machine for a few seconds
Assemble the Pita:
- Lay the warm pita bread flat on a clean surface cut along the edge with the kitchen scissors.
- Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the inner surface of one half of the pita bread.
Layer the Ingredients:
- Arrange the sliced grilled chicken breast on top of the mayonnaise.
- Scatter the cherry tomato halves and thinly sliced red onion over the chicken.
Add the Greens:
- Place the rocket lettuce leaves on top of the chicken, tomatoes, and onions.
Finish with Cheese:
- Lay the thinly sliced Gouda cheese over the rocket lettuce, ensuring even coverage.
Grill in the sandwich press:
- Put pita bread into a backing paper and put it into the hot grill sandwich press for 3 minutes, then turn and squeeze for another 2-3 minutes or until cheese melted.
- Please note: if you do not have sandwich press, you can use toaster, but again make sure you are using backing paper, wrap it up properly and put it in on the full tilt.
- Cut the stuffed pita in half diagonally to create two halves or have it whole if you like!
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Grilled Wholemeal Chicken Pita!
